Limerick Symposium on Nature of Science in Science Education

An international symposium was held at EPI-STEM from October 26-28, 2016 on the theme of nature of science in science education. Contributions to a new science education book

EPISTEM researchers Joanne Broggy, John O'Reilly, Sibel Erduran and Grainne Walshe have contributed 2 chapters to a new science education book published by Sense Publishers and edited by Professors Keith Taber from University of Cambridge, UK and Ben Akpan from Science Teachers' Association of Nigeria.    

STEM Colloquium

New CPD Resources on Scientific Practices

New continuous professional development (CPD) resources for science teaching has been produced at EPI-STEM. 13th International Congress on Mathematical Education (ICME 13)

Nine members of the EPI*STEM centre, Prof John O’Donoghue, Dr Patrick Johnson, Dr Niamh O’Meara, Dr Ciara Lane, Dr Richard Walsh, Aoife Smith, Kathy O’ Sullivan, Bernie Ní Dhonnchú and Aoife Guerin  travelled to Hamburg University, Germany to participate in the ICME 13 conference. Alison Cullinane and Sila Kaya recently attended the 13th Summer School of the European Science Education Research Association (ESERA) Summer School 2016 at České Budějovice, Czech Republic.  This is an intensive summer school that took place over the week of August 22nd to 26th 2016.
