PDMT National Programme Co-Ordinator

Tracey currently holds the position of National PDMT Programme Co-Ordinator in the EPI-STEM Centre. The PDMT – Postgraduate Diploma for Mathematics Teaching focuses on upskilling out-of-field post primary teachers in mathematics education. Tracey previously worked in the EPI-STEM Centre prior to her work on the PDMT as the WiSTEM2D (Women in STEM2D) programme co-ordinator working with the WiSTEM2D programme industry partner, Johnson and Johnson.

Tracey completed her undergraduate degree in Technology education in the University of Limerick before continuing on to complete the EHS Structured Research Masters Programme in 2021 under the supervision of Professor Merrilyn Goos and Dr. Regina Kelly. Tracey’s thesis was titled “An Investigation of the impact of an industry-focused gender intervention on the self-perceptions and career aspirations of female undergraduate students in the STEM disciplines.”

Tracey has worked on a number of research projects such as SFi funded STEMChAT, the HEA funded Upskilling of Mathematics and Science Post Primary Teachers, the DES Systematic Literature Review Gender Balance Report. Tracey is also a member of the School of Education EDI committee.

Tracey’s research interests are in the areas of STEM Education, and Gender inclusivity in STEM Education.
