Dr Michelle Starr

As Research Liaison Officer in EPI∙STEM Research Centre, I build partnerships and collaborations with teachers, schools, institutions, organisations, industries, policy-makers, teacher educators, and STEM education researchers in STEM and STEAM Education projects.

My research explores the complex intersections of gender, social class, and ethnicity within the broader frameworks of social, political, and economic systems and culture. I draw on Bourdieu’s cultural theory to understand the power dynamics and structural inequalities that influence peoples’ opportunities, experiences, and life chances.
