Biography
Helen Fitzgerald began her career in UL in 2006 and has worked across three Faculties: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS), Science and Engineering (S&E) and now Education & Health Sciences (EHS). Helen graduated from the Mary Immaculate College with a BA in Irish and History and then went on to complete a post graduate diploma in Software Localisation at the University of Limerick. She also holds a BA (Hons) in Management Practice from the University of Limerick.
She is responsible for oversight of the administrative and operational aspects of EPISTEM working closely with project teams, ensuring that the centre runs smoothly and efficiently, supporting the staff and researchers and managing resources effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for several research projects, coordinating and managing administrative tasks.
- Financial Management: Oversee the financial aspects of research projects, including budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- Project Management: Assist with the coordination and management of large research awards, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Reporting: Coordinate, edit, format, and submit project deliverables and annual reports.
- Communication: Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including Principal Investigators, funding agencies, and other relevant parties.
