In September 2019 Colleagues from the Centre for Educational Research at Western Sydney University visited EPI•STEM, the National Centre for STEM Education. WSU colleagues, expertise spans mathematics and science education, educational technology, educational psychology ,social psychology, sociology of education, teacher professional development, health education, and higher education. During their visit the following series of seminars was presented:
- Discontinuity across the primary-secondary school divide: the role of technology in the teaching of mathematics (Kathryn Holmes and Catherine Attard)
- Career and education pathways: evaluating a brief intervention to improve general alignment capability between career and education aspirations (Nathan Berger, Kathryn Holmes)
- Factors related to science career affinity in secondary students: a Science Capital analysis (Kathryn Holmes, Erin Mackenzie, Nathan Berger)
- Adolescents’ attitudes towards mathematics and science: A latent class analysis of data from TIMSS 2015 (Nathan Berger, Erin Mackenzie, Kathryn Holmes)
