Professor Sibel Erduran has participated in project meetings and led teacher education workshops at Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey during the week of March 28th, 2016 as part of her involvement in a funded project entitled "Nature of science in science teacher education: A comparative research and development project” led by Associate Professor Ebru Kaya and funded by Bogazici. The project team includes researchers Busra Aksoz, Tugce Tas and Selin Akgun. The science teacher education project has adopted ideas from the book of Erduran and Dagher (2014) to infuse a new approach to teaching nature of science in secondary science lessons. During her visit, Professor Erduran has also participated in an upgrade examination of an MSc thesis and gave a seminar on perspectives of an editor on the process of publication. As part of the comparative dimension of the project, Dr Kaya will be visiting Limerick in the Autumn of 2016 to work with Irish pre-service science teachers.
