Alison Cullinane and Sila Kaya recently attended the 13th Summer School of the European Science Education Research Association (ESERA) Summer School 2016 at České Budějovice, Czech Republic. This is an intensive summer school that took place over the week of August 22nd to 26th 2016. It comprised of workshops, lectures and seminars designed to help improve and motivate PhD research. Alison and Sila, both had a poster which was available for viewing to all in attendance, and also an oral presentation which was presented to only their study groups at the summer school. These presentations were related to their PhD research. Alison is looking at Nature of Science in pre-service teacher education and Sila’s work examines the integration of economics of science, entrepreneurship and nature of science for teaching and learning how science works in society. They received excellent feedback on their research that will strengthen their work going forward.
