Title of Talk: The Impact of EU Funded Projects from the Perspective of an Eastern European Country
During the talk will be discussed EU funded projects (SALiS, Chain Reaction, PROFILES; LeAGUe) in Science Education and it’s impact on students motivation and development of teachers attitudes, also development of teaching materials and science laboratory infrastructure at Ilia State University, Georgia.

Title of Talk: High School Teachers’ Perceptions on Inquiry Based Science Curriculum in Georgia
During the talk will be presented results of the joint study about science teachers’ perceptions on IBSE in USA, Georgia and Israel. Current practices, challenges, support in implementing inquiry based science curriculum, and a comparison of the findings from each of the three countries will be discussed.
Biography:
Prof. Marika Kapanadze holds PhD in Physics (Biophysics). She is engaged in development, implementation and evaluation of student-centered curricula and new curricular materials in science. Her research interests are teacher professional development, science curriculum development and investigation of teachers’ attitudes/students’ interest in science. She is a head of science education research center SALiS at Ilia State University, Georgia. She develops the courses about inquiry based learning and active learning methods in Physics and Science for pre- and in-service teachers. She is an author of methodological books in science education in Georgia and many scientific publications.
