Current Research in History, Philosophy and Science Teaching

On September 1st, 2014, Professor Michael Matthews from University of New South Wales, Australia has given a lecture entitled "Current Research in History, Philosophy and Science Teaching" as part of the lecture series organised by the National Centre for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and Learning. Professor Matthews is the Editor of Science & Education Journal (Springer).  He has published scores of articles in science education, philosophy of education, and history and philosophy of science journals, and has contributed to major Education encyclopaedias and handbooks. He is Foundation President of the Inter-Divisional Teaching Commission of the Division of History of Sci-ence and Technology (DHST) and the Division of Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science (DLMPS) of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science (IUHPS). He was Foundation President of the International History, Philosophy and Science Teaching Group. In 2010 he received the US History of Sci-ence ‘Joseph H. Hazen Education Prize’ in recognition of ‘outstanding contributions to education in the History of Science’.
