Dr Patrick Johnson is a lecturer in mathematics education within the School of Education at the University of Limerick. Prior to moving to the School of Education he was a member of the Mathematics and Statistics department within UL where he completed his PhD in the area of Dynamical Systems under the supervision of Dr Mark Burke. He was previously a member of the Regional Centre for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching and Learning (CEMTL) and the National Centre for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and Learning (NCE-MSTL), both located at the University of Limerick.

 

Patrick's research interests focus on exploring strategies for developing mathematics teachers’ mathematical knowledge for teaching as well as the development of Problem Solving and Mathematical Modelling competencies among teachers and students at second level.
