Biography

Attiq is a PhD researcher working in applied mathematics. His research focuses on modelling transport processes in porous media with evolving microstructures, with applications to problems such as drug release from pharmaceutical tablets. In addition to his research, he has a strong interest in mathematics education and the communication of mathematical ideas.

He is involved in tutoring mathematics modules to undergraduate students from different degree programmes at the University of Limerick, and in teaching students in the Professional Diploma in Mathematics for Teaching (PDMT) programme run by EPI∙STEM, the National Centre for STEM Education at the University of Limerick.

Attiq is interested in developing approaches that connect mathematical theory with real world applications. His work aims to highlight how mathematical modelling can be used to understand physical and scientific processes. Through involvement with STEM education initiatives, he is interested in promoting interdisciplinary learning and encouraging engagement with mathematics across science and engineering disciplines.
