Katherine Safford-Ramus is a Professor Emerita of Mathematics at Saint Peter’s University, Jer-sey City, New Jersey. Her research focuses on adults learning mathematics. She is the author of Unlatching the Gate: Helping Adult Students Learn Mathematics and most recently edited Con-temporary Research in Adult and Lifelong Learning of Mathematics: International Perspectives, a volume based on papers from the Topic Study Group 6 of the Thirteenth International Congress on Mathematical Education. For those new to OER, it will introduce and explain the benefits of their use in adult education, and provide resource recommendations and a step by step guide for how to get started. For the experienced OER user, it will discuss insights from project research and efforts curating and testing OER resources.
